We have a new opportunity for a Senior Risk Officer to join our IT Risk team on a 12 month fixed term contract.

Reporting into the Head of IT Risk, you’ll provide IT Risk, Control, Data Privacy and Audit leadership across the technology function. You’ll influence CIO leadership to ensure risk-based decisions are undertaken across all aspects, embedding risk culture. You’ll also ensure risks around emerging technologies such as AI, Chatbots and Machine Learning are considered.

What you’ll be doing:  

• Partnering with the COO operational risk team to establish standard practices for managing operation risk in first-line 
• Managing high-level stakeholder relationships including providing updates to the Senior Leadership Team
• Contributing to the growth of risk maturity within technology and the wider risk management leadership agenda
• Leading discussions to build the information risk profile, reporting on incidents and key risk indicators 
• Ensuring adherence to the control framework through detective controls and preventative measures 
• Producing standard procedure and policy documentation for risks and controls in line with group policy requirements 
• Embedding risk management into the first line technology functions
• Working closely with IT teams to integrate technology risk management and governance practices into the day-to-day operations

What you’ll bring: 

• Exposure to risk management within technology at an enterprise scale (IT Security, Cyber Security, Security Operations, Governance)
• Previous experience with technology controls, programs and risk domains (Change management, SDLC, information security practices, COBIT / ITIL frameworks)
• Ability to build and sustain relationships with individuals at all levels of the organisation
• High proficiency with MS Office productivity tools (Word, PowerPoint) with advanced skill in data manipulation using Excel
• Experience auditing within a technical environment
• Ability to translate requirements effectively and coordinate team discussions
• Working knowledge of operational risk and associated regulations e.g. Basel, SOX is desirable
