It’s an exciting time to join the AXA Commercial team in Glasgow, as we undergo significant growth across our branches to support the overall strategic business plan.

 

We're currently looking to strengthen the team and bring to market the opportunity for a Property and Casualty Underwriter to join us. This role provides a fantastic opportunity for you to build key foundations and shape the narrative, that will provide AXA the exposure and scope required for the future.

 

The role encompasses many opportunities to contribute to the development and success of the branch account, whilst driving service excellence to our customers. The team ensure close collaboration internally, as well as engaging and building key relationships with the brokers and panel aligned business developers.

 

What you’ll be doing:

 

As Commercial Underwriter you’ll help drive and transform how we partner our brokers through responsive, flexible, and collaborative relationships. With a balance of technical and trading capability, you’ll be empowered to make decisions, supported by data, insight, and decision support tools. You’ll be focused on developing and delivering profitable growth, across new and existing business within the key markets.

 

  • Underwrite Property & Casualty business profitably in line with established underwriting practices, using the full range of tools available.
  • Build a reputation as a trading expert with a panel of intermediaries and build confidence in the branch ability through interaction with our Underwriting Technical Centre.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom. 

 

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
