Are you an experienced accountant? If you’re analytical, detail-oriented and take a holistic approach, this could be an excellent opportunity for you. We’re seeking a highly organised individual to join our Finance team. You’ll provide a seamless service to internal and external customers. You’ll have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of insured and non-insured businesses. You’ll lead, support and perform accounting processes within the Record to Report team, ensuring complete and accurate accounting records are maintained.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at our Ipswich office, visiting clients or attending industry events. What you’ll be doing: 

  • Lead the production of monthly and quarterly reporting packs under various Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAPs), analysing the balance sheet and full profit and loss account for several AXA UK companies.  
  • Lead the production of annual and quarterly reporting for Solvency II Pillar 3, preparing the solvency II balance sheets and other required reports.
  • Oversee a team of 3 colleagues.
  • Liaise with other teams such as, Group Tax for preparation of the taxation charges for actual results under UK and IFRS GAAP or Internal Financial Control team to ensure controls are compliant and necessary documentation is accurately maintained.
  • Produce ad hoc financial information, interpretation, analysis, and support to customers, thereby enabling an improved understanding of the information provided.
  • Identify, design, and implement production processes improvements to increase efficiency.

What you’ll bring: 

 

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with demonstrable industry experience - essential.
  • Proven track record in accounting with strong Excel skills – essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting for insurance and non-insurance companies under IFRS - essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of Solvency reporting for insurance and non-insurance companies.
  • Understanding of company policies, business processes, procedures, and systems for wider business plans.
  • Good understanding of process management.
  • Ability to meet crucial and demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to take tangible steps to build relationships across teams.
  • Awareness of current issues in financial services environment.
