Job Description

The AXA and SWC Trading team is excited to announce an opportunity for a motivated Product Owner, who is passionate about innovation and driving growth. You’ll be the focal point for our Product Squad, dedicated to delivering new and enhancing existing customer experiences to achiever customer satisfaction and outstanding commercial outcomes.

 

As a Product Owner, you’ll deliver both business and customer value through your ownership of the product - the AXA and Swiftcover Motor and Home experiences. You’ll be responsible for executing the vision, strategy and roadmap for your product, ensuring alignment with business and tribe goals throughout the entire product lifecycle, from design and delivery to ongoing operations.

 

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Define product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with AXA/SWC business goals to drive innovation and growth.
  • Collaborate with Analytics, Trading, and Pricing teams to establish a strategic change delivery plan, leveraging performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog, reflecting current business needs, customer priorities, and risk appetite to ensure effective development.
  • Ensure high-quality product releases by delivering features that meet defined acceptance criteria and maintain rigorous quality standards.
  • Deliver customer value by ensuring the product fulfils business requirements and enhances user experience, leading to measurable benefits.
  • Achieve on-time, on-budget product delivery by implementing effective project management practices and resource allocation.
  • Engage stakeholders throughout the development process, actively incorporating their feedback and maintaining a shared understanding of priorities and progress.

What you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience in Agile methodologies with an understanding of how to deliver product increments is essential.
  • Experience of backlog management and prioritisation, ensuring it contains a well-defined and prioritised list of user stories, features, and fixes is essential.
  • Proven leadership skills that can inspire and energise cross-functional teams.
  • You’ll have the ability to collaboration with stakeholders, including business owners, engineering, design, and marketing, will be key to ensuring alignment on product goals and priorities.
  • Ability to create detailed user stories to ensure that development work meets the defined requirements.
  • Strong problem solving and prioritisation skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • You’ll have experience with data driven decision making with the ability to use data and analytics to track product performance, measure the impact of features, and inform product decisions.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

 

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
